SUPRA
THE CHANNEL GUARDIAN
|
Supra is a mature adult green dragon. From his nose to the base of his tail, he stretches over 25 feet and tips the scales at 12 tons. The span of his massive leathery wings is a good 40 feet. His scales are green, enabling him to blend in with his wooded homeland.
Supra was born in the Dark Forest. Since evil dragons aren't the most caring of parents, he was forced to fend for himself from the first moments of his life. He learned quickly to avoid preying upon the cattle of the neighboring human communities. The farmers weren't much of a threat, but they had the means to call on powerful adventuring types who seemed tailor-made for eliminating foes like Supra. So the young dragon bided his time, feeding on deer and other forest dwellers. He found himself a castle with a Satinroom to take up residence in, though he first had to remove its previous occupant, a stubborn troll with an unpleasant disposition. He realized one fact immediately troll meat was delicious. On several occasions, the elves of the forest would find the evidence of his meals and track him back to his lair. He didn't like the prospect of having to kill so many of the fair folk. Not because killing was immoral or any such silliness, but because it meant more would be coming to hunt him down. He waged a stealthy war with the elves for over two hundred years, constantly eluding them and relocating his lair. Every time they found him, the scouting party was slaughtered and Supra dropped their half-eaten remains in a nearby elfin camp. They never seemed to take the hint; every warrior they put on Supra's trail was murdered and mutilated. The dragon especially enjoyed this little game of theirs. They might as well have been offering him sacrifices. But on one occasion, the elves seemed to smarten up. The party they sent this time, a powerful ranger, accompanied by a sorcerer and cleric, actually offered Supra a challenge. Well, for about ten minutes anyway. By this time he'd grown extremely arrogant and overconfident. He'd dispatched all thoughts of stealth and trickery in favor of brute, dominating force. He'd faced the best the elves had to offer, plus mighty centaur rangers, opportunistic human adventurers, lurking vampires, dwarf warriors of the foot hills, and even rival dragons. The only one to best him so far has been the half-celestial nymph warrior minstrel, Adrauwen. Supra was forced to flee from her, diving under the waters of the sea to lick his wounds. Adrauwen and the forests other would be protectors have no doubt Supra still roams the area, though he's been especially quiet as of late. In truth, the mighty dragon has forged an alliance with the strangest of prospective bedfellows, the Necromancer. Supra has been working within Satinroom, disguised as one of Necromancer's agents thanks to the powerful magic of Necromancer's vampire ally, Vlad. In exchange for his valuable services as an enforcer, Necromancer has promised to rid Satinroom of those who would prevent Supra from ruling it. At first, the dragon was reluctant to believe he needed any sort of help from anyone, especially an elf of all people. But his encounter with Adrauwen was a humbling experience, to say the least. So the dragon swallowed his pride (an impressive feat indeed), and accepted the persuasive crime lord's offer, after recovering from his laughing fit of course. Supra remains skeptical concerning the elf's capabilities, but it occurred to him he could always just eat Necromancer if he failed. Matter of fact, he would probably eat him whether he failed or not. It was neve r part of their contract, after all. Supra is belligerent and attacks without provocation. He is intelligent, having attained over 300 years of life experience. He seeks to forcefully expand his territory to include the entire Satinroom network, conquering those unwilling to submit to his power. In combat Supra seeks out weaknesses in his foes and exploits them without mercy. If a target seems formidable, the dragon will stalk his prey to determine the best time to strike and the most appropriate tactics to use. He makes his presence known quickly to weak targets, reveling in evoking terror in his prey. Against humanoid opponents, Supra prefers to incorporate his magical mental domination abilities, interrogating them about the strength of their communities' military forces, battle plans, and so forth. Being a dragon, he can never resist asking if there happens to be some kind of treasure nearby. Supra is also quite fond of relentlessly torturing captured opponents, especially those much smaller than himself. They serve as examples for those who would oppose him. Dragons have been known to eat practically anything due to their infallable digestive systems; members of the elven tribe inhabiting his Satinroom rank among Supra's favorite meals. He fully believes he is the most powerful being in the Satinroom network, and doesn't hesitate to demonstrate his power to those weaker than him. This arrogance, a common fault among dragons, may end up costing him dearly. |
